Learn to communicate with your Deaf and Hard of Hearing friends, family members, and others with the Diploma in Digital Marketing course.
American Sign Language (ASL) is the predominant sign language among the Deaf communities in the United States and most of Anglophone Canada. The different country uses different sign languages such as British Sign Language. People who speak BSL may not understand ASL. The course is designed to teach you the fundamental concepts and signs of the ASL so that you can communicate with the large community.
ASL uses signs made by moving the hands combined with facial expressions and postures of the body. The course starts by describing the origin of the language along with the introduction to the ASL alphabet. After that, you will learn the basic fingerspelling, colors, animals, foods and drinks, family signs, number signs, professions, verbs, and critical nouns. You will master how to express your feelings and emotions using ASL.
Upon completion, you will be able to describe a story using ASL.
